KEOFI Current Programs and Services
Children’s Development Program (CDP)
Kaibigan accords the highest priority to providing poor children with an education. It recognizes that a sound education is a poor kid’s most reliable passport out of poverty.
Children’s Development Program provides formal and non-formal education to around 400 youngsters every year through primary, secondary, and tertiary. Assistances are given in the form of school uniform, supplies, projects and allowances to selected few.
In addition, Kaibigan runs academic and non-academic services like tutorials, computer laboratory, mini-library and organizes regular training, seminars and workshops on different topics such as children’s rights, child abuse prevention, leadership and the like. Kaibigan has also established various children’s groups such as theatre, visual arts and child rights advocates to hone children’s giftedness and encourage participation.
Community Organization Program (COP)
The main objectives of the COP are to raise the awareness of individuals, parents and children in poor communities of such major issues as the rights of children and women, responsible parenting, disaster preparedness, violence against women and children and to encourage them to believe that they can do something to influence and improve the conditions in which they live.
The COP also stimulates indigenous leadership and helps parents and children to access internal and external resources to meet individual, family and community needs. In all aspects of COP, KEOFI works with community leaders to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the program.
